Lapidia

For macOS and Windows (beta)

Better prompts, right in the app you're writing in

Write the way you normally do, press a shortcut, and your request comes out complete in ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor or any app. Private by default, free to start.

Demo: the draft “make a login screen in react” is typed, the Detailed style is picked and Lapidia returns a complete prompt, with context, requirements and delivery format.

How to improve a prompt without leaving the app

Three ways to call it. If something decisive is missing, it asks first; you pick the style and only then it generates. Want to know what makes a prompt good? Read the guide.

In the focused field

Press ⌃9 on Mac or Ctrl+9 on Windows: it takes what you're writing and hands back the improved version right there.

On a selection

Select text in any app and press ⌘⇧P (Ctrl+Shift+P on Windows); the suggestion shows up beside it and replaces the text when you accept.

When you pause typing

Stopped writing? The diamond appears next to the cursor. One click improves the field.

What comes with it

More than a prompt generator

  • Draft diagnosis

Before rewriting, it tells you what was missing: goal, format, context or constraints.

  • Grammar fix

Spelling, accents and punctuation only. No rewriting, no change to your tone.

  • Prompt library

Every prompt you accept is saved on your computer, with secrets masked.

  • AI role

Sixteen profiles, from frontend to research. On automatic, it picks one and tells you which.

  • Knows what you have installed

It knows your skills, MCP servers and CLIs, and names the right tool when it helps.

  • Asks before generating

If the request leaves out something decisive, it asks up to 3 questions with suggested answers.

Security and privacy

Private by default: what you write isn't stored

Lapidia reads your text only when you ask for an improvement, sends it over an encrypted connection and forgets it as soon as the answer comes back.

  • Your text isn't stored

The service passes your request to the AI model and keeps neither the request nor the answer. The model provider doesn't store the content either: it stays in memory only while the answer is generated.

  • Never reads passwords or logs your typing

It reads only the field you asked for help with, at the moment you asked, on Mac and Windows. Password fields are never read, and nothing you type outside that request is recorded or sent.

  • No one trains AI on your text

Neither Lapidia nor the model provider uses what you write to train models.

  • Encrypted and under your control

Everything travels over HTTPS. Your history and prompt library stay on your computer, with secrets masked, and the result only goes into the field when you accept it.

A website request becomes a designer's brief

Ask for a website and you get the brief a designer would hand over: art direction, sections, final copy and a Next.js project ready to deploy on Vercel.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an API key?

No. Your plan already includes usage: sign in to the app with your email and you're set. No provider account, no key to manage, no per-token charges landing on your card.

Is Lapidia safe? Does it store what I write?

It doesn't. The app reads the field only when you ask for an improvement, and never password fields. The text goes over an encrypted connection to Lapidia's service, which passes it to the AI model without storing the request or the answer; the model provider doesn't store the content either, and no one uses your text to train AI.

What does the app read from my screen?

Only when you trigger an improvement: the focused text field or the selection and, on Mac, also the visible context of the app window. Password fields are never read. The local log keeps sizes and labels, never what you wrote.

Does it work in any app?

On Mac, in any text field macOS exposes through Accessibility, which includes native apps, Electron apps and browsers; where direct reading doesn't work, it selects and copies. On Windows, it selects and copies the text in the focused field (or uses what you selected) and pastes the result back, in any app that supports copy and paste.

What counts as an improvement?

Each improved prompt counts as 1, including regenerating or redoing it in another style. A prompt from an image or a link counts as 3, because it uses a larger model. Grammar fixes don't count. If the service fails or the model refuses the request, nothing is deducted.

What if I hit my plan's limit?

The app warns you when 20% of your quota is left and, at the limit, shows the date it resets. You can buy an extra pack of 200 improvements for $5, valid until the end of the period, or switch plans. Grammar fixes keep working.

How does Lapidia improve a prompt?

It reads your draft, sees what's missing (goal, context, format or constraints) and rewrites the request to make that explicit, without changing what you want. If something only you know is missing, it asks first, with suggested answers. You pick the style: default, shorter, detailed or technical.

Is there a Windows version?

Yes, in beta, for Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit), with the same plans and the same account as on Mac. Use Ctrl+9 in the focused field and Ctrl+Shift+P on a selection. The difference: on Windows, Lapidia copies the field's text instead of reading it directly, so in some apps it helps to select the text first. Since the installer isn't signed yet, Windows may show a SmartScreen warning: click More info, then Run anyway.

How do I cancel?

Under My account → Manage subscription, at any time. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you've paid for and doesn't renew.

What the app reads, sends and keeps is spelled out in the privacy policy.

Great ideas deserve great prompts.
